Carried away...

Speaking of An Education, lead actress Carey Mulligan, who has constantly been capturing my often hard to please eye, is someone I need to discuss. Now. I have always been a fan of the cute dimpled, short haired, slightly quircky kinda gal, and this is her! (Plus so much more) She is a great actress (as demonstrated in said film), and has been donning some gorgeous numbers!

The funny thing is, I saw some Miu Miu in Lula magazine the other day and thought to myself 'Carey Mulligan would look a treat in this' and suprise suprise, look what I found.

It may not be the exact dress I had mentally assigned to her, but still. This is Carey at the Costume Institutes American Woman Gala in Miu Miu.

And here she is in this fun Prada number at the Oscars... (note the detailing)

And here she is in Chanel....

Anyway enough swooning, the point is, this is a cutie with an eye for fashion and BONUS some actual talent. Can't wait to see her a lot more in the future.

Watch this!

These images are by artist Caitlin Shearer. Don't they tell such great tales? I can picture the words these characters say and the kinds of people they would be in real life. She recently collaborated with fashion designer Karla Spetic the results of which can be seen here. Magnificent work.

Easy on the ears...

I have a thing for the way that a picture or a song can stir my imagination to the point where I create full on scenes with characters and dialogue. I just love that something can make you feel so strongly about almost nothing. The lyrics to "zorbing" are great and Brian Briggs' (the lead singer and guitarist) voice just makes me want to sit in a dark room and think of nothing but 'lying in your attic'...

AND... I recon these guys just look so genuinely into their music... obviously so passionate and loving it. How cute is their little private giggle at the beginning too. This to me, is what music is all about. I loved one of the comments on this video when I found it on youtube - "If only I could stumble upon things like this in the park, rather than chavs and needles"...So true...
