Florence and the Wallpaper

We all know fashion repeats itself. But what about wallpaper? Ever heard of Florence Broadhurst? She was this eccentric Australian woman born in the late eighteen hundreds who dabbled in everything from singing, to art, to wallpaper. Above are some of my favourite of her designs that she produced in her screen printing warehouse in the seventies. Funny thing is, they are as aesthetically on tune now as they were thirty years ago. You can even buy them today at Signature Prints. I'd have some of that on my wall for sure. However, the most curious thing about this woman aside from her fraudulant careers and eccentric dress is she was murdered, the mystery of which still remains. An intriguing woman, I'd say...
